Therapy:
I complete a thorough initial assessment for all clients in order to determine needs and establish what our goals would be in working together. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy strategies, but do take a flexible approach and often incorporate other validated interventions. When working with children and adolescents, I always involve parents in the therapy process.

Evaluations:
A comprehensive psychological evaluation generally requires 8-10 hours of in office assessment, which is scheduled over 2 to 3 extended appointments. It also involves time spent gathering additional information, such as talking to teachers, coordinating with other professionals, and sometimes observing the child in school.

Domains commonly assessed include: general cognitive abilities, language skills, verbal reasoning, visual perception, visual-spatial processing, nonverbal reasoning, memory, attention and executive functioning, visual motor skills, processing speed, academic abilities, and emotional and behavioral functioning.
